Anyone who has written a sales page for their product or service has probably experienced the pain of a flopped launch. Or has felt the embarrassment of getting crickets after introducing your new offer to the world.

Sure, things like the offer structure and funnel design come into play, but sales copy is the key differentiator between a “decent” or “pretty good” sales page and a launch that really knocks it out of the park.

#1: Hit them with the right hook

In this case, we mean “right” as in perfect or correct, and not hitting someone with your right hook (fist). 😆

Leading with a compelling and engaging hook (or headline) is one of the most important components of your sales page copy. You have only 8 seconds to capture someone’s attention (that’s the same as the attention span of a goldfish — crazy, right?).

So if the first line on your page is a snoozefest, your chances of converting them to a sale are astonishingly low.

Your hook sets the stage for the rest of your sales page. Keep these 3 goals in mind when writing your hook:
