Flashback four months ago to end of May 2023….

I’d just gotten back from an epic, last-minute whirlwind trip to Austin, TX where I was meeting up with friends and a client I was helping with a launch.

And promptly had the rug pulled out from under me.

I found out my longest and best-paying client (who paid me royalties on all sales from the email list I wrote all the emails for) was letting me go. Worst part? They were replacing me with ChatGPT.

And it was effective immediately…ZERO notice. I was getting my final bonus payment from them (which I’ had counted on every month to pay my rent), and after that I was just free-falling.

Now I’ve talked quite a bit about ChatGPT in my ​Facebook group​, mainly about how to use it the “right way” to help shortcut your research time and certain aspects of copywriting. I was also fairly confident it was not going to replace any of my good gigs. Especially the one I lost…which was a very personality-driven email gig written in a very specific voice.

The last thing you’d think that ChatGPT could adequately replace.

But my client used to write all the emails himself…so he knows the personality and voice even better than…
